Oksa Oval — Sculptural Marble & Solid Walnut Dining Table
A large oval dining table that pairs a heavily veined natural marble top with a sculptural solid-walnut base. The top is an oversized oval slab — warm grey marble shot through with amber and bronze veining, no two alike — its edge bevelled at roughly 45° so it catches the light differently through the day. Beneath it, hand-shaped solid-walnut legs splay and interlock from a central node, carved to a tapered organic form that reads as the base of a tree as much as a table support.
At 270 × 150 cm it seats eight to ten — a scale built for a dining room meant to be the centre of the room rather than an accessory to it. The oval format and rounded ends keep everyone in the conversation and avoid stranded corner seats. It is the kind of anchoring piece architects specify for their own homes, and that designers use to set the tone for an open-plan penthouse or a primary-residence dining room.
The contrast is the point: the movement and warmth of hand-finished walnut against the geological permanence of stone. The marble is honed to a matte, tactile surface; the walnut is natural-oiled and repairable over decades. Sealed and cared for, marble ages by deepening in character, and because each top is cut from a different slab, every Oksa is effectively one of a kind — relevant when specifying a piece that should not be reproducible elsewhere.
Produced in small series and made to order. Dimensions can be adjusted, alternative marbles or a darker walnut specified, and the piece adapted for residential or contract use. Trade and project quotations available on request.
